About Us
Shishukunj Mankuva was established 10 years back with an objective to create a model kindergarten for surrounding pre-primary schools. It functions in concert with the motto of Shishukunj, “Gammat sathe Gnan” – allowing the children to learn through play, with learning being a playful and joyful process.
Muljibhai Bhalani, a Shishukunj Karyakar, initially trained the teachers and later on the Montessori approach was introduced in Shishukunj Mankuva. Teachers were trained by faculty from Dakshinamurti, Bhavnagar.
Shishukunj Aanganwadi enrols 75-80 children every year divided into 3 groups (Nursery – Gulab, Jr.KG – Surajmukhi, and Sr.KG – Kamal). Admissions are done twice in a year (June and December). The children attend the Aanganwadi from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm from Monday to Saturday. Freshly cooked snacks, rich in nutrition, are served daily to all the children of Shishukunj. There are 3 teachers, 2 assistants and one Kendra Karyakar in the centre. Throughout the year, the children are engaged with various activities like celebrations, field trips, music and dance sessions and art sessions.
Parents prefer Shishukunj as it is not just about the academics but something about real education.
Our teachers are provided opportunities for continuous professional development. They are practicing different ways of teaching to reach to the child. Teachers from different schools come to observe the setting and approach.
