Seva Programmes in India
- Dhanvantri School-The Child Welfare Trust: Shishukunj, from time to time, has supported Dhanvantri School, Bhuj in terms of funding various projects and material support.
- Day Care School for Slum Children, Bagasara: Shishukunj sponsors the Day Care School for Slum Children in Bagasara (Gujarat).
- Gram Swaraj Sangh, Nilpar: Shishukunj has sponsored education for girls in the residential school in SonTekri, Nilpar.
- Happy Faces School, Bhuj: Shishukunj sponsors fees of children who are from economically weaker sections, and has also supported the school in establishing Mind Gym, play area equipment and soft boards.
- Chaitanya Charitable Trust, Jamnagar: Shishukunj funds Happy Children Centres in slum areas of Jamnagar, managed by Chaitanya Charitable Trust.

Seva Programmes in Nepal
In 2015, two major earthquakes shook Nepal. The first earthquake on April 25 2015, killed over 10,000 people, injured over 18,000, and destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes. The second quake 13 May 2015, toppled already weakened buildings, triggered a series of landslides further hampering relief efforts.
Within days of the disaster, the MZ & KZ SHAH FOUNDATION-UK, SHISHUKUNJ and DHARMA BHAKTI MANOR STANMORE organised to raise funds for immediate relief. Through your support £160,000 was raised to provide emergency food, drinking water and blankets, but also enabled rice distribution, zinc roofing shelter, essential building tools, sanitation facilities, water projects and emergency shelter for schools.
Our continuing journey of HOPE FOR NEPAL now leads us to the needs of the children and their futures. When disaster strikes children are the most affected and vulnerable. Whilst food, water and shelter provide immediate aid, these children now need our help to give them a chance of a real future through schooling and education.
Hundreds of schools were damaged or destroyed during the 2015 earthquakes. Our programme focuses on the districts of Dhading, Nuwakat, Rassuwa and Gulmi where many children do not even have a basic structure to study within. In these remote areas the need is so great that we are not talking about fancy architectural buildings but a safe classroom with essential elements needed for children to learn and flourish in a dignified way: a roof, natural light, doors and proper walls, sinks and toilets.
Seva Programmes in Kenya
- Muya Library Project: Shishukunj supported the construction of library building.
- Books, Wheelchair and Walking Stick Donations: These materials were donated in various schools and community in Thika.
- Computer Training Project for Nyajenga Secondary School Children: More than 30 boys and girls have received computer training with support from Shishukunj.
- Ndenderu Polytechnic: Technical training in the fields of electrical, dress making, motor vehicle repairs and carpentry education has been provided to children from lower socio – economic background and their fees has been supported by Shishukunj.
- School Trips: 197 children from 3 different schools were taken on field trip to museum and Snake Park to expose children to nature and history.
- School Feeding Programme: This is being supported in Nyeri.
- Text book support programme: Textbooks have been purchased and loaned to two schools for children’s use.
- Donations to Amara School on behalf of Shishukunj, London.
Seva Projects or Shishukunj International Projects (SIP)
Over the past years, Shishukunj International Projects (SIP) has had some major initiatives that have enabled Seva Pravruti to thrive, allowing one and all to participate. Through the generosity and support of members and well wishers, Shishukunj has been able to make a difference to the lives of many children around the world. The activities at Shishukunj centres play a significant role in helping the children to develop a compassionate worldly view, a selfless drive to help others and an appreciation of fundamentals that we all too easily take for granted.
